Teach students to mark through objects as they count so that they remember which objects have already been counted. If the students are counting manipulatives, teach them to move objects into a new pile as they count them. It's a little trick that helps students to count correctly.
Christmas Math
Print the pictures and numbers onto cardstock then cut into cards. Put the number cards and picture cards into bags. Each child gets a bag. They count the objects on each card and match it to the number word. When they finish, switch bags with a neighbor.

Missing Number Cut and Paste
Have students color the numbers before cutting and pasting especially if your class uses bottle glue! Have the students identify the type of color pattern (AB, AAB, etc) as well as the missing number.
